Random bands have started to follow me on twitter and tumblr, and it does amazing things for my ego. In this segment, we talk about the bands that have followed me this week.
Nate Henry, The Begging Sea
A few weeks ago I reviewed the band Sherwood, a group that broke up before I had a chance to learn a lot about them. This week, Nate Henry, lead singer of Sherwood, followed me on twitter, and through that I learned about his latest project, The Begging Sea.
At first, I had myself convinced this would be too country for me to comment with any authority or integrity. But here's a fun fact about me: as a baby, the only music I would listen to without crying was country. And now, I'm a fully realized fan of rock. The same transformation occurs in the song "All We've Got." The song starts out very Nashville, but as it progresses, it gains a New Jersey-esque rock sensibility that doesn't overshadow the roots of the sound. It's a great song, one that makes me extremely excited to see where The Begging Sea goes.
Verdict: Begging for a listen, begging for more
