Emily Becker

I've found space for all of me within the pages of sketchbooks and the frames of photographs. The colorful, manic consumer of cartoons and anime; the goth girl going to every dive-bar show south of 20th street; the environmentalist learning to breathe new life into fibers as old as she is; all have space to breathe within my portfolio. 

I began drawing in earnest in middle school, creating comic books at a breakneck pace and training in fine art to improve my drawing skills. After discovering a love for music, I turned my attention to design and photography, skills that brought my abilities into concert with a non-visual medium. After interning in various parts of the music business, expanding my photography portfolio, and building a foundation of freelance design experience, I graduated from The New School with a diploma in creative entrepreneurship, a self-designed degree incorporating my varied areas of academic interest.

I currently work as the in-house designer for Empire Event Promotions,  offer freelance design and illustration services, and sell eco-friendly art prints through Etsy. I have previously worked on projects for Sigue Nadando Productions, Kitu Life, The Boomer Esiason Foundation, 6/8 Music, The Music Obsession, NYU's Third North Residence Hall, The Comedy Zone, and The Catalyst Publicity Group. My work has also been featured by Alt Press, Buzzfeed, and Rock Sound magazine.
